Increased Effective Business Networking equals Increases in Sales –
Its all about Contacts! Visitors Morning, Wednesday 10th February

Galway Business Club will host an open visitors meeting on Wednesday 10th February at 9.30am, where non-members may attend the networking event to experience the business referrals and lead generation that happen over breakfast every Wednesday for this group.

The Galway Business Club is looking to invite a limited number of new dedicated members to join, and seek people who are both self-employed and working within businesses who are interested in learning more about this hugely successful means of business development.

This is a great opportunity for business owners where the Club is opening up a small number of places for new members and anyone interested in benefiting should attend on Wednesday 10th February. The weekly round-table meetings usually take place at 8.00am in Flannery’s Hotel and finishes at 9.30am. This Visitor’s meeting however will begin at 9.30am to give people the opportunity to experience the breakfast meeting at a later time.

This networking and business organisation is based on the premise of ‘Givers Gain’ where the members of the group actively seek referrals and new work connections by networking on behalf of the other members. Galway Business Club was formed in order to provide a cost effective method for small to medium sized businesses to gain new clients and promote their businesses through this networking club.

"We meet on a weekly basis to share information, pass referrals and develop strategic alliances," said Caroline Clarke, Chairperson of Galway Business Club and Health and Safety Consultant at Clarke Consulting, "Only one representative per profession is permitted to join so as to avoid any negative competition. The GBC works very well for its members with a relaxed gathering with serious business done."

Getting back to a well-recognised fact in sales – "people buy people" – and when we get a recommendation from someone we know and respect, we are inclined to pay heed to it and go with their advice. Such is the value of this system, that referral and networking groups are springing up world-wide and on-line networking is the latest using up-to-date technology. Staying local, the Galway Business Club is in existence for the last two years and has been successful in generating substantial revenue and referrals for its member businesses. As well as the weekly meetings, the members have an exciting calendar of guest speakers and professional training activities which have included topics like Goal Setting, Time Management, Telesales and networking skills.

"Being a member of the GBC is like having a sales force out there trying to help you, as each member has their own contact base. If sales and referrals are an important part of your business you really should be a member of the GBC," said Declan Mannion, of DV Mannion Accountants, founder member.

Galway Business Club is a member-run, business-building social network for local companies. If you are interested in the group please refer to www.galwaybusinessclub.com for more information as well as checking that your business is not already represented in the membership. Visitors may attend from other sectors of business than those listed as members. This event is free of charge and you are requested to register your attendance by Tuesday 9th February at 3pm, as numbers are limited by calling 087 2179821 or emailing info@galwaybusinessclub.com.
